“I felt like I was sitting across from you, having a glass of wine, listening to you tell me a story.”
“I couldn’t put it down. I started reading on a Tuesday morning at work and was so engaged that I cancelled all of my appointments for the day so I could keep reading.”
Thanks for the share, Henry! From Kilimanjaro News:

Deb, I received so much from your story of adventure and your sharing of you…
More to follow.
I could not figure out how to make the the audio come alive.
Would love to hear your voice. How?
Hi Hazel – Not sure about the audio…I’ll contact you to troubleshoot.
All is well. Pilot error on my part. Thank you for the remarkable photographs and videos. They are the perfect addition to your story.
What others are saying:
“Determined to be a ‘lighter presence in the world,’ Newtown Square’s Deb Denis made the ascent of Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro in the summer of 2011. Faced with her mother’s brain cancer diagnosis, and despite athletic shortcomings, Denis forged ahead with her journey to East Africa, overcoming fear and pushing her physical limits. Kilimanjaro chronicles all the things that made the climb possible, from meditation and diet to intense reflection and, ultimately, hope” -Emily Riley, Main Line Today Magazine
“Reading your book made me laugh, cry, and [it] taught me to use my voice. ”
“Deb, I am enjoying your book immensely! I must tell you I feel like you are telling me this story as if we were sharing a few glasses of wine together. It is an enjoyable read.”
“Your book had an emotional impact on me.”
“I couldn’t put it down.”
“A wonderful and inspirational book . . . If you are looking for motivation and a touching story, this is a great read! “
“I’ve just finished reading your book-loved it! it really was hard to put down after I had started it! It’s a very special book and even more so for me personally.”
“I laughed, cried, and came away inspired and in awe … [I] can’t wait to share your story!”
“Once I picked it up I was hooked. Your writing style keeps the reader engaged and interested. I read it cover to cover. What an adventure! What a woman!!!”
“The narrative is woven beautifully into your inner narrative. And you surprised me many times with how much there was to describe and how much you were able to share about a lot more than the climb – as if that wouldn’t have been enough! I read every word of your preparations, what to buy, what to pack…E-VER-EE-THING! And when there was no more to read I was sad. It’s a beautiful book, and I’m looking forward to sharing it with my friends.”
“Bravo! Perfect combination of passion and truth. Well done. Hope it goes viral!”
Ann chose Kiliwarriors and when you read the book, you’ll see my mention Carol from Kiliwarriors, who was helpful to me (I enjoyed our conversation too). Tremendous and clearly, by Ann’s experience and over 10 years in the business of leading teams up Kilimanjaro, Kiliwarriors is one guide service to consider. See Carol’s message to Ann in the April 9, 2012 entry in Ann’s blog https://ann-hewitt.blogspot.com/
Ann Hewitt is a brave and tenacious Kiliwarrior herself, not letting painful physical challenges like Fibromyalgia deter her from her dream of climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. Ann Hewitt – YOU ROCK!
Dear Deb, I was given a lovely signed copy of your book for Xmas, and finished reading it this morning on my way to work, couldn’t wait to log on and see all of your lovely pictures, and your happy face! For me the best parts of the book were your personal thoughts, particularly as you untangled the issues around your family and the love you felt for your dear mother. It is so sad when someone is ill and you can do nothing for them, it happens even in families where you are all still together, so don’t feel bad or that you could have done things differently. I wish you much happiness in your future adventures. Vivienne
